Problem Solving

The difficulty with most problems is that you don't know what the problem is. This applies in electronics hardware, software and systems operation, but equally to production systems, IT systems and almost everything else in business and life.

No-one will know immediately what your problem is, the cause and solution. You need someone who can research for you, make scientific tests, and propose various solutions along with their relative merits. I couldn't find anyone to do this for me, so I had to do it myself. Perhaps I can help you by doing it for you, saving you from extra work and time.

Apparently it is an unusual skill that I have, where I can immediately break any problem down into smaller and smaller parts, making tests that quickly track the source of a problem. To me it is a natural process - a way of thinking - so that the root cause of a problem can be identified. In my years running a company I would really have valued someone with these skills who could have helped me - something I am sure I can do for you.

The challenge most of the time is that I don't know the exact way that things are supposed to be, so it takes research and testing to determine where a problem lies.

Once a problem is identified, I can usually come up with several possible solutions, and together we could choose the best solution for you, taking the whole picture (time/cost, practicalities, business impact etc) into account.

Whatever your problem, be it technical, practical, operational or just in the way that things are being explained, I can help.
